How Have My Thai Massage Treatments Changed?

Therapeutic Thai massage combines Traditional Thai massage’s stretching and acupressure with Tok Sen and Herbal Compress massage techniques

Many clients have asked me whether my training has changed how I treat them. The answer is most definitely a yes.

I learned a lot of new techniques in Thailand, but more importantly, I gained a deeper understanding of what the methods do and how they can work together depending on a client’s needs. So the most significant change is that I no longer do my various modalities in isolation from each other.

Before my additional training, I had clients decide between a Traditional Thai massage, a Tok Sen or an Herbal Compress massage. Now I do all three modalities in every treatment.

I still offer treatments focusing more specifically on one modality than another, but even then, I will bring in other modalities if needed.

Although I find this new direction much more challenging, it is more rewarding. And it forces me to be in the moment instead of settling into a comfortable sequence. But nobody said improving oneself would be easy.
